GO FACE-TO-FACE WITH BABY CROCS AND MORE AT TOUGH MUDDER’S SEASON-ENDING UAE SHOWDOWN
Tough Mudder introduces new “Muddy Waters” section for final event of the season
Participants tasked with overcoming obstacles featuring live animals
Event takes place in Mina Al Arab, Ras Al Khaimah on April 20th
April 1st, 2024 – Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: Tough Mudder, the world-famous obstacle course racing challenge, hosts its season-finale in Ras Al Khaimah later this month, where participants will face the frightening prospect of navigating obstacles which include live animals such as baby crocodiles, piranhas and electric eels.
Having already staged four events in KSA this year, including the inaugural Tough Mudder Infinity Al Ula, Tough Mudder returns to Mina Al Arab, Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday April 20th, in association with RAK Properties, official location partner of the challenge.
Those looking to take on the 5km or 10km course will now face an even tougher challenge with the addition of “Muddy Waters”, a section which will see live animals introduced to the event for the first time.
The “Muddy Waters” element will comprise three new water-themed obstacles; the Croc Crawl, Piranha Pond and Electro Eel Therapy – ensuring participants will not only have to combat the traditional Tough Mudder challenges, but also outsmart the animals in their natural habitat.
Nic Cartwright, Tough Mudder Middle East License Holder, said: “Following a hugely successful season, we want to ensure our final event lives long in the memory and we believe that by introducing live animals into the mix, participants will experience a once-in-a-lifetime challenge.
“It’s not every day you come face-to-face with a baby crocodile, piranha or electric eel, meaning this could potentially be more of a mental challenge than physical for some taking part, who certainly won’t want to look foolish.
“Either way, it will undoubtedly make for an entertaining spectacle, and we look forward to bringing the curtain down on the season in unique fashion.”
Over the course of the season, Tough Mudder challenges have attracted a combined total of over 20,000 competitors at locations including Dubai and Fujairah.
The KSA Swing, at the start of the year, saw Tough Mudder host events in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, before Tough Mudder Infinity, the region’s inaugural eight-hour endurance challenge, took place in the ancient city of Al Ula.
