Remarkable Success for the Swimming, Cricket & Throw Ball Competitions of the Tournament
Ajmal Perfumes Team (men’s category) & the E.F.S Team (women’s category) have won the titles of the volleyball competition of the 6th “Labor Sports Tournament”, the biggest of its kind which is organized by Dubai Sports Council, in collaboration with the Permanent Committee of Labor Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Police and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security, under title “Their Happiness is Our Goal”.
The 6th edition of the “Labor Sports Tournament” continues up to 23rd Feb. 2025 with participation of 46 thousand male & female laborers, representing 270 companies competing in 12 sports competitions at 10 different locations of Dubai.
Ajmal Perfumes has gained the title of the men’s category of the volley competition, held at Dulsco Arena Pitches in Al-Quoz. The Yun Co. Team secured 2nd place, followed by Emrill Team in the 3rd place & then Brekely Team in 4th place. Milan Chand Thakuri of Ajmal Perfumes Team was honored as best player in the competition.
In women’s category, the E.F.S secured 1st place, followed by Brekely Team in the 2nd place, & ENOC in the 3rd place, while the James Facilities Team came 4th. Laila Nakai of E.F.S. was named as best player.
Swimming Competitions:
The swimming competition took place at the Drydocks World Swimming pool in Dubai. Participants in this competition competed in three categories; these were: 50 M, 100 M & 200 M.
Fadl Al-Haq of the Drydocks World finished the 50 M competition within 37.90 second to secure 1st place, followed by Rajesh Gopi from Al-Tayer Co. in the 2nd place within 41.63 seconds & Shabir Khan of Emrill in the 3rd place within 47.39 seconds.
In 100 M category, Gobind Karki of Ejada Co. finished the competition within 1:16.18 minute & won 1st place, followed by Nelbert Laga from the Drydocks World in the 2nd place within 01:20.96 minute & Gethin Anthony from Emrill Co. in the 3rd place within 01:37.57 minute.
In 200 M swimming competition, Khalid Ali from Ejada Co. secured 1st place within 03:08.11 minutes, followed by his colleague in Ejada Co. Kelvin Eshun in the 2nd place within 03:46.43 minutes, and Rana Ahmed of Berkeley in the 3rd place within 04:34.04 minutes.
Cricket Competition:
The cricket competition was held at the Grass Residence pitches in Jebel Ali. ENOC Team won the 1st place with 50 points, followed by the Stars Residence in 2nd place with 49 points, while W 1 gained 3rd place & then Emrill came 4th.
With regard to individual prizes, Motiullah from the Stars Residence Team was honored as the best shooter, while Suhail of ENOC gained the title of best field player, and Faizan of W 1 was awarded as best striker. The Emrill’s Muzammil Uddinor was named the best wicketkeeper, & Azhar of ENOC was awarded as best player in the competition.
The throw ball competition was arranged at Al-Gharhoud. In men’s category, the Coastal Friends won the competition’s title, followed by the ACME Team in the 2nd place, Concans Dubai Co Team in the 3rd place, and then the Konkani Cultural Foundation Team in the 4th place. The Coastal Friends’ Joeson D’Souza was named the best player in the throw ball competition – men’s category.
In women’s category, the Konkani Cultural Foundation won 1st place, followed by the Coastal Friends in the 2nd place, the ACME Team in the 3rd place and the Ponts Dubai in the 4th place. Suman Gala Bhatt from K-Ku was awarded as best player in the competition.
