AED 1 million in prizes for winners of Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup
The championship will run at Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai from 30–31 August
Abu Dhabi, August 26, 2025: Preparations are underway for the 8th edition of the Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, taking place on 30–31 August at Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai. The championship will award a prize pool of more than AED 1 million to the top three winners across various divisions.
Leading clubs and academies from across the UAE have confirmed their participation, including Shabab Al Ahli, Al Ain, Al Wahda, Baniyas, Al Jazira, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, ADMA, and M.O.D UAE, along with a strong lineup of ranked athletes across all categories.
The competition features four main divisions – Adults, Under-18, Under-16, and Under-14 – and is regarded as one of the key fixtures on the local sporting calendar, alongside the Jiu-Jitsu President’s Cup, Mother of the Nation Jiu-Jitsu Cup, and the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, carrying significant value for both athletes and clubs.
H.E. Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: “The Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup is an important fixture in the domestic season. Over the years, it has elevated the level of competition between clubs, supported player development, and consistently provided opportunities for new talents to emerge and represent the UAE on the international stage.”
He added that the championship demonstrates the Federation’s commitment to the highest organisational and technical standards.
“The competition is based on a weight-class system rather than belt rank, which creates strong matchups between athletes with different levels of experience. This approach plays a central role in developing skills and building long-term readiness.”
