Dubai Sports Council celebrates Winners of the 4th “Talabat Dubai Schools Games” Several Promising Sports Talents present Excellent Performance & win Titles in the Various Individual Competitions of the Tournament
Dubai Sports Council (DSC) celebrated the male & female students who have won the titles of the 4th edition of Talabat Dubai Schools Games; the biggest of its kind in Dubai, which was held with participation of 8500 male & female students from 163 public & private schools in Dubai.
Dubai Schools Games Tournament was organized by ESM for the fourth successive year and under the sponsorship of Talabat Co.
The Tournament represents the preliminary step for scouting & developing sports talents before moving to join clubs & become Olympic champions.
This came during celebrating the Tournament’s conclusion at DSC’s premises in Dubai Design District in the presence of H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC / H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of DSC / Mr. Ahmed Salim Al-Mahri, Director of Sports Development Dept. in DSC / Mr. Ali Omar, Director of Sports Events Dept. in DSC / Mr. Khalid Al-Awar, Director of Communication & Marketing Dept. in DSC / Mr. Pippa Clark, the CEO of ESM Co. / Ms. Natasha Haji, the Head of Communication & Sustainability in Talabat Co.
H.E. Saeed Hareb honored winning male & female students in all categories who competed in 20 various sports competitions; these were: football, volleyball, basketball, rhythmic Gymnastics, golf, people of determination games, tennis, swimming, cycling, badminton, cricket, padel, gymnastics, chess, esports, bow & arrow, athletics, netball, rugby & karate.
H.E. Saeed Hareb expressed pleasure toward the remarkable success of the Tournament and thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this leading event; top of which is the ESM Co., the Tournament’s Organizer, besides participating schools. He also thanked the Tournament’s sponsors & supporters; top of which are: Talabat and the Emirates Flight.
He stated: “We are so pleased to witness the annual great development in the Tournament, which continues attracting further male & female students of public & private schools. More than 8500 male & female students from 163 schools participated in the 4th edition of the Tournament. The increase of the numbers of participants confirms that the event has been attaining its sports & community goals, and affirms that the schools sector is aware of the importance of this leading Tournament, the biggest of its kind which presents vital role to boost DSC’s policy to attract & develop sports talents, based on Dubai Government’s Strategy in this respect”.
H.E. the Secretary General of DSC added: “The Tournament has unveiled many sports talents out of the huge numbers of participating male & female students who contested strong & enthusiastic competitions in various sports. We have witnessed exciting finals & excellent performance from sports talents of different age groups. The Tournament is one of DSC’s most eminent initiatives, based on its essential role to enhance the Council’s policy to attract sports talents, support the program of the scouting & developing of sports talents and industry of future champions besides the spreading of the culture of the exercise of sports activities among schools’ students to enable them enjoy healthy, intact, happy & active life”.
He concluded: “The Tournament deals with important sector, i.e. the school sector. The school sports present vital role to develop the sports movement in the country, by its capacity as the intact base of the sports pyramid. The school sports championships represent the preliminary step for scouting & developing sports talents before moving to join clubs & become Olympic champions. Schools & parents should pay attention & take care of these sports talents and support them to meet their goals & attain titles in international championships. I congratulate winners in all competitions besides participants who have left unforgettable memories and gained experiences & skills through fair competitions vs. their counterparts”.
Male & female students who secured first places in the Tournament were honored. Schools which won titles in the team competitions were also awarded. In this regard, the GEMS Jumeirah School won 1st place in the competitions of the primary stage, followed by Arcadia School in the 2nd place and GEMS Wellington International School in the 3rd place. In the secondary stage’s competitions, GEMS Metropole School – Motor City won 1st place, followed by Jumeirah College in the 2nd place and Lycée Française International Georges Pompidou School in the 3rd school.
Schools which won the overall ranking were honored as follows: GEMS Jumeirah Primary School secured 1st place in the competitions of the primary stage, followed GEMS Modern Academy in the 2nd place and Safa Community School in the 3rd place, while in secondary stage’s competitions, the GEMS Modern Academy secured 1st place, followed by GEMS Global Academy in the 2nd place & Safa Community School in the 3rd place.
The Tournament’s sponsors were honored as follows: Emirates Airlines, Midea Co., EMAHS Medical Centre, Mai Dubai, Al-Marai, Go Sport and Talabat Company – the Title’s Sponsor.
Awards were also presented to entities which provided their pitches & facilities for organizing the various competitions of the Tournament; these were: Expo City Dubai, Hamdan Sports Complex, Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, Dubai Sports World, Dubai Club for People of Determination, Al Wasl Club, Al Nasr Club, Shabab Al Ahli Club, Dubai Chess & Culture Club, Vision Cricket Club, CF Tennis Academy, Citizen School and WeMate Sports Club.
