Abu Dhabi, October 9, 2024: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced that registration for the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship – Round 4 (Gi) is closed, with over 2,200 participants registered. The competition will take place at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah from October 11 to 13.
The organizing committee confirmed that registrations were closed three days before the deadline due to increased demand for participation and reaching the championship’s capacity.
Fahad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAEJJF, said: “The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship – Round 4 (Gi) is crucial for the clubs and academies competing for the championship’s title. It offers a unique opportunity for teams to advance in the rankings ahead of the final round, which will take place in Abu Dhabi this December.”
He added: “As we approach the final round, every point earned becomes even more valuable. The competition for the top spots intensifies, with athletes determined to deliver their best performances to secure their chances of leading the race and ultimately claiming the title.”
The official weigh-in for the championship will be held at various locations to accommodate participants. The Abu Dhabi Martial Arts Academy (ADMA) Dubai branch, ADMA Al Ain branch, and UAEJJF Arena in Abu Dhabi will conduct weigh-ins on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 PM to 7 PM.
At Zayed Sports Complex, weigh-ins will take place on Thursday and Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM, with additional weigh-ins from 7:30 AM to 9 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This championship is part of a five-round series held across different emirates throughout the season. Participants span various age categories, including youth, masters, and professional athletes.
