Jiu-Jitsu National Team Departs for France to Compete in Grand Prix Paris Open 2025

Abu Dhabi, April 23, 2025: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, departed early today for France to compete in the Grand Prix Paris Open 2025, taking place from April 25 to 27. Recognised as one of the premier events on the international jiu-jitsu calendar, the championship attracts some of the world’s top-ranked competitors.

His Excellency Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, highlighted the importance of competing at the highest level and expressed his confidence in the team’s readiness.

“Participating in international championships such as the Grand Prix Paris Open is crucial,” said Al Dhaheri. “It not only puts our athletes’ skills to the test but also sharpens their technical and mental skills while reinforcing their global reputation. These events provide an ideal platform for our athletes to prove themselves against world-class opponents. We are proud of their commitment and confident they will continue to raise the UAE flag high on the podium.”

National Team’s coach Helder Medeiros added: “The team has undergone a rigorous training programme in recent months, focusing on physical conditioning, tactical awareness, and technical refinement. We’re heading to Paris with a highly capable group of athletes who are ready for the challenge. Regardless of the level of competition, we believe they can deliver strong performances and build on the UAE’s growing track record in international jiu-jitsu.”

The UAE’s participation in the Grand Prix Paris Open 2025 reflects the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s commitment to global excellence. By consistently competing in key regional and international events, the Federation continues strengthening the nation’s position as a global leader in the sport.
