Final preparations complete ahead of ADXC 11 in Al Ain Region; fighters face off ahead of big night

Al Ain Region, Abu Dhabi, 13 October: Organisers of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship have confirmed that all preparations are complete ahead of the 11th edition of the championship (ADXC 11), taking place on 14 November at ADNEC Centre Al Ain. The event will feature a stacked fight card bringing together some of the world’s top jiu-jitsu and grappling stars.

The announcement was made during a press conference held Wednesday at Bait Mohammed Bin Khalifa in Al Ain, attended by a host of dignitaries, including Saeed Al Dhaheri, Destination Management Department Director at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Tareq Al Bahri, General Manager of International Vision Investment, and several of the athletes competing in the event, including Gabriel Sousa, Ruan Alvarenga, Salla Simola and Daniel Barbosa.

Organised by International Vision Sports Management in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, ADXC 11 promises an action-packed lineup of elite matchups, headlined by a highly anticipated main event between Brazilian Gabriel Sousa and his compatriot Ruan Alvarenga.

The press conference also featured the final face-off between the main event fighters, adding intensity and excitement ahead of tomorrow’s bouts.

Saeed Al Dhaheri, Destination Management Department Director at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: “With preparations now complete and the athletes gathered in Abu Dhabi, anticipation for the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship has never been higher. The pre-event press conference showcased the remarkable talent and dedication of the competitors, setting the stage for an unforgettable event. We look forward to welcoming fans from around the world as Abu Dhabi once again demonstrates its leadership in hosting world-class sporting experiences and nurturing the growth of combat sports both locally and globally.”

Tareq Al Bahri, General Manager of International Vision Investment, said, “We are fully prepared for the start of the championship. As always, each new edition of Abu Dhabi Extreme delivers a new level of excitement and spectacle. Hosting this round in Al Ain Region reflects the city’s historic importance and reaffirms the UAE’s leadership in the world of combat sports.”

Gabriel Sousa said: “I’m having a great time here in Al Ain, and I thank the organisers for giving me this opportunity to compete again. I worked very hard to reach the main event, and I’m ready to put on a strong performance and give the audience a good show. I’m facing a tough opponent, but I’m fully prepared. I’ll try to put pressure on him, force a mistake, then look for the submission and the win.”

Daniel Barbosa added: “I’m happy to be back in Al Ain for the second time and to compete in Abu Dhabi Extreme for the third time. I trained hard for this championship, and I want to keep my winning streak and secure my fourth victory. The atmosphere in Al Ain is amazing, and I thank the organisers for their support and for giving the fighters the chance to compete in such an innovative event.”

All bouts will be streamed live on TX7 and broadcast on the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel.
