Abu Dhabi, UAE (December 2024): The wait is finally over, as the much-anticipated 2024 season of Liwa Village has officially opened its gates. Marking the start of 23 days of adrenaline-pumping activities, cultural immersion, and non-stop entertainment, this unmissable event is always a highlight of the UAE’s winter calendar. Set against the breathtaking desert landscape of Liwa, this year will be bigger and better than ever, with a 30% larger footprint and a whole host of new attractions.

Lovers of supercars, impeccable aesthetics, and grand demonstrations are also in for a treat as Liwa Village gears up for its inaugural Liwa International Festival 2025 Parade. An extraordinary celebration of craftsmanship, set to take place on December 13, this vibrant event will showcase a dynamic parade of supercars, weaving through some of the UAE’s most picturesque landscapes before reaching the cultural and entertainment hotspot of Liwa Village.

Hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Liwa Village offers the perfect blend of Emirati traditions, modern experiences, and exciting adventures. Liwa Village continues to celebrate Emirati heritage while also introducing several incredible contemporary experiences.

What to Expect

From now until January 4, the event’s six themed areas have something for everyone:

Souk: Explore a bustling marketplace filled with traditional crafts, delicious cuisine, and authentic Emirati shopping experiences.

Wanasa: A haven for family & friends, with engaging activities and workshops for children and adults.

Tarab Liwa: A hub for live music and performances by renowned local and regional artists.

Adrenaline: High-speed thrills and heart-pounding adventures await.

Shams Liwa: Enjoy breathtaking desert views from the iconic Ferris wheel and other scenic spots.

Meydan: A space for friendly competitions with games and challenges for visitors of all ages.

Incredible New Experiences

This year’s expanded program introduces some thrilling attractions, including the Horror Escape Room, which is inspired by Emirati folklore and a chilling chance to test your courage and problem-solving skills. The ‘Night Oasis’ Immersive Museum, a 360-degree projection mapping journey exploring dreams and stories under the desert night sky, alongside the Art Hub, which showcases a blend of traditional and contemporary Emirati artistry, Hot Air Balloon Experiences, where you soar above the desert for stunning views or enjoy the captivating tethered balloon glow show and a Classic Cars Mueseum showcasing over 50 iconic vehicles.

Adrenaline junkies can enjoy the Go-Karting Zone, the ultimate destination for high-speed challenges. At the heart of the action, the Extreme Arena will feature the thrilling Monster Jam, where world-class athletes navigate massive 12,000-pound trucks in jaw-dropping competitions. Adding to the excitement, the FMX Experience will showcase gravity-defying stunts by freestyle motocross riders, while the Hollywood Circus delights audiences with daily acrobatic performances, magic acts, and laughter for the entire family.

Unmissable Live Performances

An immersive musical experience also awaits at Liwa Village, where some of the region’s top Arabic artists will grace the stage showcasing an array of unforgettable performances under the desert sky. The concert series kicks off on December 14 with Mutref Al Mutref and Mohamed Al Bakri, followed by Hamad El Ameri and Aryam on December 21. On December 28, enjoy the vibrant sounds of Aseel Hameem and Mahmoud Turky, leading up to an electrifying New Year’s Eve celebration with Abadi Al Johar and Rahma Riad.
