Emirati honey shines at Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition during Global Food Week 2025

Abu Dhabi, October 23, 2025: Visitors to Global Food Week (2025) were treated to a stunning display of artisanal honeys at the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE). The Honey Pavilion display highlighted the value and importance of Emirati honey, thought to be among the finest in the world thanks to natural production methods and prized for the careful preservation of Emirati bee breeds.
The pavilion took place as part of the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition at GFW, which ran from October 21-23 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. GFW 2025 was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA).
Curated by a number of renowned beekeepers, the Honey Pavilion highlighted honey’s versatility, not only for its use in food but also as a natural remedy for a range of illnesses and injuries. The exhibition underlined the competitiveness of Emirati honey in both local and regional markets, and was a testament to the quality and value of this much sought after product.
Exhibitors were quick to highlight the pivotal role that ADAFSA has played in supporting beekeepers and honey producers in the UAE. The authority has provided them with guidance to help them tackle any challenges they could face, while also ensuring that Emirati honey upholds its quality and productivity to strengthen its market position.
Ali Khalifa Al Nuaimi, owner of Eastern Mountains Honey Company, said: “Emirati honey is characterised by a natural purity and high nutritional value, making it one of the best and finest types, compared to many international varieties. This reflects the efforts of Emirati beekeepers in preserving bee breeds and their natural pastures.”
Mohammed Salem Al Baloushi, owner of Al Dhahirah Honey Company, highlighted the importance of having a specialised Emirati association for beekeepers and honey producers, saying: “The association plays a pivotal role in organising and managing the beekeeping and honey sector, enhancing local and regional investment, providing suitable pastures for beekeepers and expanding opportunities for Emirati honey in regional markets. This ensures a high-quality, valuable, and competitive Emirati product both locally and regionally.”
The honey pavilion is part of ADIFE’s efforts to support outstanding national products and showcase the UAE’s food sector in provide high-quality products with added value. This strengthens the country’s position as a leading regional centre for food production.
GFW 2025 plays a key role in cementing Abu Dhabi as a leading voice in accelerating global discussions on food security and the future of agriculture. Several notable events have taken place over the course of three days at GFW, including ADIFE, as well as the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition, Global Food Talks, and the AgriTech Forum, all designed to enhance the emirate’s reputation in this vital sector.
