Maiden eight-hour endurance event takes place in AlUla, KSA, on Saturday 24th February

Prize pot of $480,000, the largest in obstacle course racing history, up for grabs

Over 40 countries worldwide represented as long-standing rivalry between OCR greats Ryan Atkins and Jon Albon takes centre stage

Monday 19th February, 2024 – AlUla (KSA):  The countdown to Tough Mudder Infinity AlUla is well and truly on with the inaugural event landing in the Middle East this coming Saturday, 24th February.

The ultimate endurance challenge will involve over 1,000 participants, with over 40 countries worldwide represented in the ancient city, situated in the north-west of the Kingdom.

With only five days to go until this groundbreaking event, here’s everything you need to know about Tough Mudder Infinity AlUla:

Record-breaking prize pot

Tough Mudder Infinity AlUla boasts the largest prize pot in obstacle course racing history, with a staggering $480,000 at stake, meaning there is no larger incentive for participants to push their bodies to the limit over the course of the event.

The winner of both the men’s and women’s individual races, meanwhile, are in line to win a huge prize of $80,000.

Saudi stars set to shine

Taking part in the event will be Nelly Attar, a Saudi/Lebanese mountaineer who became the first woman to summit K2 in 2022.

Attar, who has also scaled Kilimanjaro, Grand Paradiso and Mount Speke, to name just a few, will be eager to make her mark on home soil.

Rivalry renewed

One intriguing sub-plot is the renewal of a rivalry which has dominated OCR for many years, as Canada’s Ryan Atkins and the UK’s Jon Albon prepare to battle it out for glory once again.

Both men have enjoyed plenty of previous success, but who will come out on top this time around?

All will be revealed this coming Saturday in AlUla!

Location, location, location

AlUla is serviced by direct flights from multiple destinations including Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, meaning a significant number of participants from across the region are expected to take part in the event.

A truly unique destination, AlUla combines stunning landscapes with historic monuments, ensuring competitors can look forward to enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime experience while attempting to navigate a challenge in which only the strongest – both physically and mentally – will last the distance.

Pick your battle

With all individual tickets for Tough Mudder Infinity now sold out, participants can enter as part of a team of two or four, while those competitors keen to sample something slightly less gruelling can take on either of the classic 5K and 10K races, becoming part of a history-making event.
